This category holds courses meant to be kept private from students.
In order for your course to be kept hidden from students, you need to make it "hidden". To do so,
- Create your course as usual, and put it in the Faculty & Staff / Private category.
- Go to the Private category page.
- In the upper right corner, press "Turn editing on". The page layout will change and a number of options will be added.
- Locate your course on the list (you may need to follow the links to different page numbers) and locate the small eye in the edit column (fourth icon from the left). Press it, and your course's title will become gray.
If you'd like to keep the contents of your course unenrollable by other Faculty and Staff members, you need to prevent enrollment while creating your course. If your course is already created, you can access the Settings page from Administration block on the course's main page. Set "Availability" to "This course is not available to students".
Once that is set, you'll have to manually add other Faculty and Staff members to the course in order for them to view it. Follow the "Assign roles" link in the Administration block of the course's main page. Click on "Non-editing teacher" and you'll be presented with two columns. Select a name from the column on the right and press the left arrow to add that Faculty and Staff member to your course. They'll then be able to access the course as normal.
